How do I calculate a percentage of a number?
Multiply the number by the percentage divided by 100. For example, 20% of 150 = 150 × 0.20 = 30.
How do I find what percent one number is of another?
Divide the first number by the second, then multiply by 100. For example, 30 out of 150 = 30 ÷ 150 × 100 = 20%.
How do I calculate a percentage increase or decrease?
Subtract the old value from the new value, divide by the old value, then multiply by 100. A rise from 50 to 75 is (75 − 50) ÷ 50 × 100 = 50%.
How do I add or subtract a percentage?
To add X%, multiply by (1 + X/100); to subtract, multiply by (1 − X/100). Adding 8% to 50 gives 50 × 1.08 = 54.
